The skills and virtues that members of the King Edward Society gain are life long and continue to help them long after graduation.
King Edward Society is one of only two male Societies at Saint Anselm College that is recognized by the college. Our Society was created in 1959 as a community service organization and we continue that tradition to this day. Throughout the academic year King Edward Society participates in a number of community service projects. These projects range from raising money to donating our time and labor. A few examples of our service are: hosting a pub trivia night on campus, setting up for the culture fair, mock trial, and family weekend events, helping the thanksgiving basket drive, cleaning up the forest around campus, Up 'Til Dawn, hosting tables at the holiday fair, helping toys for tots, the pet a pooch program, Relay for Life, volunteering for the Bedford Rotary, participating in the city water day, and many more.
Perhaps one of the greatest aspects of King Edward Society is the numerous alumni who continue to support our organization year in and year out. Often, alumni will take time off from their busy careers in order to return to campus for membership drives, alumni weekend, homecoming, and countless other occasions in which their presence is greatly appreciated. This not only demonstrates the success of our fraternity over the years, but it also shows the effect that King Edward Society had on the lives of each of the alumni that return to support us. While pledging King Edward Society is not for everyone, those who choose to partake in it gain friendships and life skills that will last far longer than the few short years that we enjoy at Saint Anselm College.
One of the main goals of the King Edward Society is to promote charity on campus. The King Edward Society is always there to help other groups and clubs at school set up and run their events, but also host our own events on campus.
The sense of brotherhood between members is built on real lasting friendship. There is a real sense of belonging in the members of the King Edward Society.
For some events on and off campus we partner with other groups and societies from the school. This is a great chance to meet new people, have some fun, and get a big group together to do some good.
As the years pass and the members come and go, the tradition of the King Edward society remains strong.
The King Edward Society is always looking for new opportunities to help the community and student body.
